Bivin Warren H. Bivin, former resident of the Glasco community, died at St. Joseph's hospital Saturday, July 30, following an illness of a year. Mr. Bivin's condition became serious in January. he was 78. Mr. Bivin was born March 10, 1882, in Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lafette Bivin, and came to the Glasco community with his parents when he was two years old. He has farmed in that community all his life with the exception of four years, 1944 to 1948, when he lived in California. he moved to Concordia only a few months ago. He was married to Adda Bray in February, 1905, in Concordia. She died in November, 1939. On Nov. 2, 1947, he was married in Salina to Myrtle Peterson of Concordia. Mr. Bivin was a member of the Baptist church and from 1932 until 1936 he was a lay minister of the New Hope church. Survivors are his wife; one son, Dr. Dale L. Bivin, of Concordia, Mo.; two grandsons, Nolan Dale Bivin, with the US Army in Germany, Sheldon Bivin, of Manhattan; two great-grandsons, three sisters, Mrs. Ora Doak of Stockton, Mrs. Herman Ceder of Jamestown, and Mrs. Newton Ceder of Concordia. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Concordia Baptist church with the Rev. R.H. Spangler officiating.
