Read More	Wayne L. McClure, 76, Malvern Wayne L. McClure, 76, of Malvern died March 14, 2000 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Funeral services were March 18, 2000 at Mansfield Hertz Funeral Home of Malvern with burial in the Malvern Cemetery. Rev. Shirley Albert officiated the services. Mr. McClure was the son of Roy Earl and Sadie Elizabeth (Martin) McClure, born May 23, 1923 in Mills County. He attended Malvern High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army during his senior year assigned to Company M in the 34th Infantry from Red Oak and served during World War II in the European and Middle Eastern War Theater. He was decorated with a silver and bronze battle star and six overseas service bars. He was one of the few members of the 34th Infantry to have escaped capture during the battle of Kasserine Pass. He was married to Barbara (Bobbie) Lou Cowell February 21, 1946 in Lawrence, Kan. Following the service he worked for DeKalb Seed Co. constructing their plants throughout upper midwestern states, was a semi driver for Waller. Transfer of Malvern, worked at Roth Packing House in Glenwood, was a custodian at Chantry Elementary School in Malvern, and a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the American Legion Post 520 and the First Baptist Church of Malvern. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Neva Plummer and Thelma Allensworth. Survivors include his wife; daughters Sharon Larson and husband Darwin of Fargo, N.D., and Betty Hays and husband Robert of, Malvern; sons Thomas McClure and wife Nicky of Ocean,Springs, Miss., and Michael McClure and wife Sandra of Malvern; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother Charles McClure and wife Maida, and James McClure and wife Cathy of Malvern; brother-in-law Robert Plummer of Glenwood; and nieces and nephews.
