Description	:	Wendell K. Washington was born at Superior, Nebr., on March 11, 1923, the son of Edward Carl and Harriett A. Washington. He grew to manhood in Superior. He graduated from Superior High School with the Class of 1942. Wendell enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Nov. 10, 1942. He served his country in the Pacific Theater aboard the U.S.S. Nassau. He was awarded six awards and was discharged Dec. 18, 1945 with a rating of Machinist Mate 1st Class. Washington was born at Superior, Nebr., on March 11, 1923, the son of Edward Carl and Harriett A. Washington. He grew to manhood in Superior. He graduated from Superior High School with the Class of 1942. Wendell enlisted in the U.S. Navy on Nov. 10, 1942. He served his country in the Pacific Theater aboard the U.S.S. Nassau. While living in Superior he became a member of the Methodist Church and was a past commander of St. Mihiel Post 103 American Legion. On March 2, 1947, Wendell was married to Margaret Andreasen. To this union two children were born - Dennis Scott Washington and Carleen Sue Lowe. He is survived by his parents, Carl and Harriett; his wife Margaret; daughter Carleen Sue; son, Scott and his wife D'Ann and two grandsons, Michael and Kent; many nieces and nephews and many friends.
