Kenworthy, older son of James and Mary Kenworthy was born April 12, 1871 her Randolph, Fremont County, Iowa and died at his home at Grant, January 25, 1848 age 76 years. He resided on a farm near Randolph until 1891 when he moved with his parents to a farm near Grant. On September 19, 1897 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ellenwood, and four children were born to the union all of whom, but one, with the mother survive. Kenworthy, older son of James and Mary Kenworthy was born April 12, 1871 her Randolph, Fremont County, Iowa and died at his home at Grant, January 25, 1848 age 76 years. He resided on a farm near Randolph until 1891 when he moved with his parents to a farm near Grant. On September 19, 1897 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ellenwood, and four children were born to the union all of whom, but one, with the mother survive. The older son, Glenn was killed in a car accident July 14, 1928. The children are Nellie Huggenberger, Omaha, Nebraska, Mae Blackburn, Spokane, Washington, and Howard Kenworthy of Grant. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Nora Kreger and Mrs. Mille Barr of Red Oak, two brothers, Frank Kenworthy of Grant and Joe Kenworthy of Marsland, Nebraska. Four sisters have preceded him in death. Besides these immediate relatives he leaves seven grandchildren. Shortly after they were married, Mr. and Mrs. Kenworthy moved to a farm in Gage County, Nebraska, living there until 1900, when they moved back to Iowa, where he was a successful farmer until he retired in 1940 and moved to his home in Grant. Mr. and Mrs. Kenworthy celebrated their golden wedding anniversary September 19, 1947. Mr. Kenworthy united with the Methodist Church in Grant in 1914. The body was brought to the Wolfe Funeral home where it remained until the funeral services, Wednesday afternoon, January 23, at the Methodist Church in Grant, conducted by Rev. A .A Breeling. Pall bearers, nephews of the deceased, were Jas. Kenworthy, Roscoe Kenworthy, Beryl Roberts, Russell Barr, Fred Craig, and Glen Barr. A quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Shculer, Mrs. Deane Schuler, and Clarence Weaver furnished the music. Assisting with the flowers were Mrs. Russell Larson, Mrs. Oscar Zappe, and Mrs. Leslie Embree. Villisca Review, Thursday, January 29, 1948, page 4
