WILHELMINE GOLNITZ PASSED AWAY LAST WEEK Mrs. Wilhelmine Golnitz, for many years a resident of this community, passed away Thursday of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Roggow, living near Peterson, with whom she had made her home for a number of years. Death was caused by an attack of gall stone. On account of her adanced age an operation was deemed inadvisable. Wilhelmine Kolpin was born August 14, 1851, in Germany, and died at Peterson Iowa, October 4, 1928, at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 20 days. She was married to Wilhelm Golnitz in the year 1871 and the same year they came to America, living for a time in Illinois, and then coming to Iowa and settling in this community where she had since lived excepting the time spent with her daughter. Her husband passed away in the year 1896. To this union were born ten children, Sophia Roggow of Storm Lake, W.J. Golnitz of Aurelia, Emma Buddenhagenof Aurelia, emma Buddenhagen of Aurelia, Louise Roggow of Peterson, Lena Swensen of Arlington, South Dakota, Mary Schwen of Cherokee, Henry Golnitz of Aurelia, Charlie Golnitz who passed away fourteen years ago, and a son who died in infancy. She is also survived by two brothers, Fred Kolpin and George Kolpin of Aurelia, and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Dreyer, Mrs. Fred Kohlhagen and Mrs. Tobe Ruebsam of Aurelia, besides thirty-six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Immanuel's Lutheran church in Afton township, in charge of Rev. O. Braunschweig, and burial took place in Immanuel's Congregational cemetery. __________________ Card of Thanks We wish to extend our sincere thanks to neighbors and friends for their acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy in our recent bereavement, also for the beautiful flowers.
