Description	:	WILLARD C. GERMAIN Willard C. Germain, eldest son of the late Osmer and Nellie Germain was born on a farm north of Bern, Kans., on Set. 21, 1886 and passed away Feb. 19 in the Pawnee City hospital. He is survived by two sons, Everet Roy and David Edward, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren of California. Willard graduated from the Bern high school in 1904. He is survived by two sons, Everet Roy and David Edward, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren of California. Willard graduated from the Bern high school in 1904. He attended Peru State Teachers College after which he taught school for several years. He later went to Quincy, Ill., where he attended Gem City Business College. While in Quincy he met Miss Inez Mollenhauer, who became his bride on July 4, 1914 at Ship Rock, N. Mex., where he was engaged in teaching in the Indian School. She was accompanied by her mother to Ship Rock. Later they moved to Browning, Mont., where he was employed by the government to teach the Indians on the Black Foot Reservation. He returned to the DuBois vicinity in 1934 and for several years engaged in carpenter work in Kansas City and other area. He retired in DuBois and as long as his health permitted made daily trips to his farm where he fed cattle. No longer able to go to the farm he sold his land several months ago.Interment was in the DuBois cemetery Friday, Feb. 23 with graveside services with Rev. Ward Merritt of Humboldt officiating. The Wherry Mortuary of Pawnee City was in charge of the service. Pallbearers were Clifford Buman, Lee Trecek, Milton Jun, and Arnold Chauza.
