Description	:	Willard J. "Fid" Cocherell, 75, passed away at his home in Bonaparte on January 29, 2005. Fid was born March 3, 1929 in Bonaparte to Willard C. and Helen Cocherell. He married Elizabeth Specht in 1950 in Farmington and later married Louise Simpkins in 1975. A lifelong resident of Bonaparte, Fid graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1947. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Jack White's hatchery in Farmington and retired as manager of the Fairfield Glove Company, Bonaparte in 1991. Fid was born March 3, 1929 in Bonaparte to Willard C. and Helen Cocherell. He married Elizabeth Specht in 1950 in Farmington and later married Louise Simpkins in 1975. A lifelong resident of Bonaparte, Fid graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1947. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Jack White's hatchery in Farmington and retired as manager of the Fairfield Glove Company, Bonaparte in 1991. He was a member of the Bonaparte Lion's Club, Bonaparte American Legion, Bonaparte Cemetery Association, Riverview Country Club and served as Mayor of Bonaparte. Fid loved golfing and the outdoors. He is survived by two children, Randy of Durango, Colorado and Ronda of Joplin, Missouri; two grandchildren, Josh and Dusty; his first wife Elizabeth; and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Glen, and his second wife Louise. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, at the United Church in Bonaparte. A luncheon will follow at 3 p.m. At the Bonaparte Opera House for family and friends. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Lee County Hospice, Bonaparte United Church or the American Cancer Society. Hofbauer-Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, Farmington is in charge of arrangements.
