Description	:	The 1860 census record is the only census record that William Absher son of Jacob & Sarah (Sally) Hall Absher, age 9 is recorded in. A second record of William Absher was found written in "Levi Absher's Ledger". The original ledger is now in the possession of Mr. Dean Rhoades who is a descendant of "Levi Absher". Mr. Rhoades donated a copy to The Genealogical Society of the "Original" Wilkes County and gave permission for the Society to mimeograph copies for members. In the "Levi Absher Ledger" Williams name was recorded as "Little Billie Absher"; died Sept. 1863. I believe that this is William Absher son of Jacob & Sarah Hall Absher; since they as well as other members of the family are recorded in the Levi Absher Ledger. William Absher would have been around 12 years of age at the time of his death. In the Levi Absher Ledger there was no indication that William "Little Billie" Absher's death was caused from conflict during the Civil War; which Levi Absher indicated for others in the Ledger. He probably died from natural causes or disease. There is no way to really know. No further records of William have been found. A Marker will be placed for him some time in the future. If anyone has further information about "William Absher" please let me know so I can add to his biography.
