Schumacher of Two Harbors, Minn., died at his home Friday, April 20, from a relapse following the flu. His death was most unexpected, although he had not been in the best of health for the last two years because of high blood pressure. Schumacher of Two Harbors, Minn., died at his home Friday, April 20, from a relapse following the flu. His death was most unexpected, although he had not been in the best of health for the last two years because of high blood pressure. William Schumacher was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schumacher, both deceased, and was born at Niles, Illinois, June 18, 1889. When he was 9 years old his parents moved to this county, where he grew to young manhood. He united with the Church of God in this city 33 years ago, but later became a Methodist & died in that faith. In 1903 Mr Schumacher located in Minnesota but returned to Iowa some years later and for a time was engaged In business at Lanesboro, Ia. He, locating in Minnesota, he was in the furniture business at Two Harbors at the time of his death. Surviving are his wife, who was Miss Ella Staak before her marriage; two brothers, John Schumacher of Carroll and Arthur Schumacher of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. E.M. Hanby of Carroll and Mrs. A.G. Chase of Chicago. His remains were brought to the home of his sister Mrs. E.M. Hanby of this city, where funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. Arthur M. Eastman officiating. Interment was made in the Carroll cemetery. Mr. Schumacher will be remembered by many Carroll friends as a congenial, upright man. He was affiliated with the Masonic lodge, I.O.0.F. lodge, Eastern Star chapter and the Woodmen.
