Lawson, elderly resident of the Calvary section of the suburbs, died at the McCready Memorial Hospital on Friday evening of last week. He had been ill for sometime, and death was the result of his advanced age and general debility. Lawson, elderly resident of the Calvary section of the suburbs, died at the McCready Memorial Hospital on Friday evening of last week. He had been ill for sometime, and death was the result of his advanced age and general debility. Born in Asbury District October 18, 1859, Mr. Lawson resided ion that district all his life, wresting his livelihood from the waters of Pocomoke and Tangier sounds, until his failing health prevented him from doing so. His parents were the late William H. and Caroline Lawson. A brother, George C. Lawson, died a few weeks ago. His wife, the late Mary F. Lawson, died as a result of falling beneath an Ocean City excursion train at the Crisfield depot about thirty years ago. Funeral services were held from the Lawson & Hubbard Funeral Home on Monday, with his pastor the Rev. John T. Rowlenson officiating. Interment was in the Asbury Cemetery, beside the remains of his wife. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Pearl Haffner and Mrs. Rhea Bunting, daughters, Messrs. Wilson and Clyde Lawson, all of Washington, D.C., the sisters, Mrs. Julia Lawson and Mrs. Estelle Sterling, and a brother, Mr. John Lawson of this city, and ten grandchildren, also survive. The pallbearers were George A. Maddrix, Paul Maddrix, Wilmer Lawson, Arthur Hinman, Roy Woodland and George Sterling. His casket was banked by many beautiful floral pieces, attesting the respect in which he was held among his neighbors and friends.
