H. Louther had died suddenly of heart failure at Lewistown where he was attending the Midland Empire fair. Louther had died suddenly of heart failure at Lewistown where he was attending the Midland Empire fair. Mr. Louther went to Lewistown the week before to enter his horse in the races at the fair and it is thought that the excitement of the races brought the attack on. He had just finished a race and was going after water when he was stricken. W. H. Louther was born April 16, 1859, at Sparta, Illinois. At the age of nine years he went with his parents to Kansas City, Kansas, then Wyandotte, on a steamboat and resided there for seven years when he started a run on the U. P. railroad as fireman, which he continued for a number of years. He was married to Lydia M. Elliott at Fort Scott, Kansas, December 20, 1888. Was engaged in the coal and feed business in St. Joseph for a number of years, going from there to Oklahoma City, where he spent two years with race horses, removing to Kansas City in 1907 where he spent six years in the undertaking business. He came to Fort Benton in 1913, and has since resided here. Mr. Louther has always taken an active part in every undertaking since coming here and for several years he had charge of the county fair, either as president or secretary, and it was due largely to his excellent work that the county fair attained the success that it has. He resigned all connection with the fair after 1919 and devoted his time to the understanding business and also to the leasing up and trying to get development on the Goosebill oil structure. Just this summer he severed his connection with the Mount Auburn Burial Association and opened an undertaking establishment of his own. He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, two sons Paul K. of this city, and Karl K., who is attending school in Wisconsin, and one daughter, Miss Harriet, of this city, besides a large number of friends. Funeral services were conducted from the home on Thursday afternoon by Rev. Roy Wilson, and services at the cemetery were conducted by members of the Masonic order, of which he was a member. Interment was made in Riverside cemetery.
