Grubb, and old soldier and old settler, died at his home near Utopia at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 1908, of sciatic rheumatusm, aged 64 years and two months. He has been ill for the past two years and for the last year has been confined to his bed a constant sufferer. He came to Kansas in 1885 and his family grew up and was educated in Kansas. He leaves a wife and seven children to mourn his death. The children are Millard and Benjamin Grubb and Mrs. May Dodd, of Oklahoma; Harry Grubb, of Burlington, Kas., Roy Grubb, of Emporia, Kas.; Mrs. Maud Donaldson and Lee Grubb, of Greenwood county. The deceased served during the Civil War in Co. E. 30th Ohio Inf. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church and lived a consistent Christian life. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. J.H. Oliver, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of Hamilton, were held at the Utopia school house, Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 11 a.m.. Interment was in Greenwood cemetery where the rital service of G.A.R. was observed in charge of Dick Yates Post No. 50. *********************************
