Description	:	William grew up with his brothers and sisters on his parents' farm at the village of Colestown. The village, located on Crooked Lane (then in Moorestown Township, Burlington County; now in Colestown, Camden County), was close to where Colestown Cemetery presently sits at the intersection of Church Road and King's Highway. By September of 1776, Robert, Abigail and their children- Mary, Joshua, William and Samuel- had removed to a residence near Union Bridge, Carroll County, Maryland. By September of 1776, Robert, Abigail and their children- Mary, Joshua, William and Samuel- had removed to a residence near Union Bridge, Carroll County, Maryland. [1.] William, third son of Robert and Abigail Hunt, was taken with the family to Virginia, where, near Winchester, he married Phebe Shion, about 1797 or 1798. William and Phebe became members of Crooked Run Monthly Meeting. The meetinghouse was located near Ninevah (Nineveh) about thirteen miles south of Winchester. On August 3, 1799, William and Phebe Hunt were granted a certificate by Crooked Run that was accepted on January 3, 1800 by Redstone Monthly Meeting, Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. [4.] William and Phebe joined his sister Mary and her husband, Jacob Painter, and migrated with them to Ohio, 1802, soon after which he and his wife and son located on a quarter section of land a mile and a half east of the present site of Salem. On March 2, 1804 William, Phebe and their son Robert were accepted by Middleton Monthly Meeting that was close to their residence. [4.] The wife and young mother died soon afterwards, and, a few years later he married Elizabeth Webb. The issue of this second marriage were: Elizabeth, John, Martha, and Seth. They resided on the home farm until the death of William, the father. After the marriage of the son, John, the widowed mother made her home with him for many years and there died at an advanced age. As the Quakers were opposed to inscribing stones to mark the graves of their dead, we are largely deprived of data relating to their genealogy. We are fortunate, however, in having the oldest daughter, Elizabeth, now Mrs. Geer, still among us, in her ninetieth (1905) year, who recently put us in possession of much valuable information about this branch.
