He was sixty-six years of age. The son of the late Noah T. and Mariah Jane Byrd, the deceased was noted for his many fine traits of character and for his wonderful nature. Byrd Died At Home In Suburbs William Hutchens Byrd, esteemed resident of Byrdtown, passed away at his home in that community on Monday of this week following a lingering illness. He was sixty-six years of age. The son of the late Noah T. and Mariah Jane Byrd, the deceased was noted for his many fine traits of character and for his wonderful nature. He was industrious and honest and by his great efforts was able to prove quite successful in business. Wherever he went Mr. Byrd made a legion of friends, and to know him was instantly to love him. The heartfelt sympathies of his great number of friends and acquaintances are being extended to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Byrd, one son, William Byrd; and two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Tyler and Miss Gertrude Byrd, all of the Crisfield suburbs. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Asbury Methodist Church with the pastor, Rev. J. T. Rowlenson, assisted by Rev. H. D. Dukes, of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Interment was in the Asbury cemetery.
