Description	:	Obituary for the Late William McBride -Orangeville Banner - December 5, 1912 By the death of William McBride, of East Garafraxa, on Monday morning, possibly the oldest resident of that township passed away. Born at Dublin, Ireland, he came with his parents to Canada when two years of age. The family lived for some years in Toronto township, and 65 years ago moved up to the homestead on the 12th concession. Read More	Obituary for the Late William McBride -Orangeville Banner - December 5, 1912 By the death of William McBride, of East Garafraxa, on Monday morning, possibly the oldest resident of that township passed away. Born at Dublin, Ireland, he came with his parents to Canada when two years of age. The family lived for some years in Toronto township, and 65 years ago moved up to the homestead on the 12th concession. A short time after Mr. McBride struck out for himself, and bought the farm at Taylor's corners, from the late William Thompson. It had but one acre cleared, but in the face of his muscular strength and perseverance, it soon became one of the best properties in the vicinity. In 1860 he married Esther Redman, who died three years afterwards, leaving one child, who is now Mrs. Robt. Hanna, of Belwood. In 1866 he married Ann Myles, who died a few years ago. The following children survive: William in Innisfree, Alta.; Mrs. Allison Haws, of Meaford, Joseph in the States and James at home. Mr. McBride had been in poor health all summer, but was only confined to his room for a day or two. In recent years he suffered much from poor eyesight, but in his younger days was one of the most athletic man of the district.
