Funeral Services Held Saturday for Sioux Rapids Man Sioux Rapids (Special): William Remillard, who has been a resident of Sioux Rapids since 1886, died last Thursday morning following a 24-hour illness, the immediate cause of his death being bronchial pneumonia which developed following an abcess on the brain. At the age of four years Mr Remillard was the victim of infantile paralysis, which left him blind, and for the past 23 years he has been deaf. Since the death of his parents 12 years ago, he has been tenderly cared for by his sisters, Miss Mary Remillard and Mrs. Lulu Domier, in whose home he passed away. During all the years of his afflication he has been a most patient sufferer. William Remillard was born on May 5, 1885, at Cissna Park, Ill. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Remillard. At the age of one and one-half years he came with his parents to Iowa and settled at Sioux Rapids, the remainder of his life being spent here. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Domier and Miss Mary Remillard of Sioux Rapids, five brothers, Jess, Isaac and Frank of Sioux Rapids, Ed of Sacred Heart, Minn., and Clarence of Hampton, several nephews and nieces, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held from his late home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock and were in charge of a cousin, Rev. Harlow Arms, of Irene, S.D. Wayne Coon, Floyd Ingram and Kenneth Cate sang "Rock of Ages" and "Shall We Gather at the River?" Burial was in the family lot in Lone Tree cemetery. Amond the relatives from a distance to attend the funeral were Napoleon Remillard and family of Hartley, Mrs. S. Whaley of Coleman, S.D., J. C. Thomas and Ernest Thomas of Flandreau, S.D., Ray Thomas and Mrs. Mary Bauhn of Sioux Falls, S.D.
