He was born on May 8, 1940 in Belleville, the son of Fred and Emma (Peters) Poppe. He was drafted into the United States Army and was proud to serve his country. He is survived by his wife, Helen Poppe of Olsburg; two sons, Curtis Poppe and wife Michelene of Denton, Nebraska and Allen Poppe and wife Shannon of Raymond, Nebraska; four special grandchildren, Gus, Colt, Tate and Ellie Laflin of Olsburg; one sister, Bernice Dutton of Chester, Nebraska and many nieces, nephews, special friends, neighbors and Flint Hill T.E.A. Party brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Norman Poppe and two sisters, Luella Kapperman and Leora Grafelman. Cremation is planned and the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
