Description	:	A cemetery without one headstone, but the location of the "Battle of Little Mountain," or Estill's Defeat. On March 22, 1782 a group of militiamen led by Capt. James Estill fought courageously against a band of Wyandot Indians. Capt. James Estill and 6 other men were overrun and killed, their bodies left where they fell. Three days after the battle, 57 men from the surrounding stations, led by John Harper, searched out and found the bodies of the seven white men killed in Estill's Defeat. On March 22, 1782 a group of militiamen led by Capt. James Estill fought courageously against a band of Wyandot Indians. Capt. James Estill and 6 other men were overrun and killed, their bodies left where they fell. Three days after the battle, 57 men from the surrounding stations, led by John Harper, searched out and found the bodies of the seven white men killed in Estill's Defeat. History states the search party buried the men with logs and chunks, and that in 1803, nearly 21 years after the battle, the county surveyor was able to mark the spot where James Estill fell and was buried. (South 71 degrees West, 29 poles, to the mouth of the branch.)
