Description	:	Alease Cawthorn Roane, age 89, of Plain View, VA, formerly of Richmond, VA died March 25, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Annie Rutherford Cawthorn. She was preceded in death by her husband Doswell Franklin Roane; a son Doswell Franklin Roane, Jr.; two brothers Charles Edward Cawthorn, Jr. and Gordon Fitzhugh Cawthorn. Alease was a member of Shaclelfords Chapel United Methodist Church where she had served on many committees. Read More	Alease Cawthorn Roane, age 89, of Plain View, VA, formerly of Richmond, VA died March 25, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Annie Rutherford Cawthorn. She was preceded in death by her husband Doswell Franklin Roane; a son Doswell Franklin Roane, Jr.; two brothers Charles Edward Cawthorn, Jr. and Gordon Fitzhugh Cawthorn. Alease was a member of Shaclelfords Chapel United Methodist Church where she had served on many committees. She was a founding member of the board of directors of Rappahannock Community College representing King and Queen County. Alease was postmistress at the Gressitt Post Office in King and Queen before they had mail delivery and enjoyed talking with her neighbors when they came to the post office. Surviving are her sons Edward Clyde Roane and his wife Patti Davis, Richard Lee Roane and his wife Peggy Colley; granddaughters Gabrielle, Jenna, and Jordan Roane; step-granddaughter Roxann Haden and her husband Michael and their daughter Kasey. She is also survived by sister-in-laws Barbara Gillio Cawthorn of Richmond and Gloria Call Cawthorn of Hemet, California. She leaves many beloved nieces and a special friend Margaret Horsley. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28th at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181. Interment will be private in Shackelfords Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 27th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Samaritan Fund, c/o Shackelfords Chapel United Methodist Church, 3727 Buena Vista Road, Box 9, Shacklefords, VA 23181.
