Description	:	Mrs. Alice Purviance died at her home at 767 North Eight Street, Steubenville, Ohio, on Sunday at 1:50 p.m. She had been ill since February 5. She was born at historic New Rumley, Ohio and was 83 years of age February 5th. She was the daughter of Alpheus and Matilda Gotschall Lowmiller, members of pioneer and influential families of that section. Her husband Thomas Purviance, son of Dr Thomas Harlan Purviance, died in 1925. These children survive, Mrs. Lila Phillipson at Bloomingdale, Ohio; Sally at Cleveland, Ohio, Carroll in Los Angeles, California, Homer and Alice at home. These sisters... These sisters and brothers: Mrs, Verna Reed, at Canton, Ohio, Mrs. Hal Barkhurst, at Jewett, Ohio,Homer of Mountain View, California, four grandchildren, James, ALice, and Mathielde Angel, Roland Phillipson, a great grandaughter Alice Joan Phillipson. There have been three deaths in her family in three weeks, the other two being Mrs. A. E. Angel and Mrs. R. E. Inman , both daughters. She was a member of the Congregational church and the Woman's Relief corps. An eminent christiam woman , her death will be a matter of regret to many friends.
