Description	:	Alma Bertha Strait, daughter of Joe and Charlotte Strait, was born November 22, 1870 in Litchfield, Ohio. She passed away January 2, 1946 at 3:15 a.m. at the home of her son, Richard Ritnour at Dickeyville, at the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 10 days. She had been ill for about ten days and death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. When she was but 22 months old, she came to Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. Read More	Alma Bertha Strait, daughter of Joe and Charlotte Strait, was born November 22, 1870 in Litchfield, Ohio. She passed away January 2, 1946 at 3:15 a.m. at the home of her son, Richard Ritnour at Dickeyville, at the age of 75 years, 1 month, and 10 days. She had been ill for about ten days and death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. When she was but 22 months old, she came to Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. On February 6, 1889, she was united in marriage to James McClelland Ritnour at Hays, Iowa. They made their home on a farm. To this union six children were born, three of whom, Mary, Martha, and Lester preceded the mother in death. Mr. Ritnour died at their farm home on November 15, 1943. The surviving children are Richard Ritnour of Dickeyville, Rose Linker, Dickeyville, and Homer Ritnour of Villisca. Other relatives surviving to mourn their loss are three sisters, Mrs. Linnie Stevenson of Turlock, California; Mrs. Lou Carothers, Woodburn, Oregon; Mrs. Nellie Strait, Independence, Oregon; eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ritnour was a member of the Advent Church at Villisca, Iowa and a good Christian woman. Her presence will be missed in the family circle and by many of her friends. Funeral services were held Friday, January 4, at the Advent Church in Villisca at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Joe Torn Tate was in charge of services. Music was furnished by Mrs. Frances Gray and Mrs. Merle Clark. Pallbearers were Ben Day, Bill Loper, Albert Brown, Joe Mason, Olin Willett, and Ned Hoyt. Interment was in Nodaway Cemetery.
