Description	:	Alma Frances (Murphy) Stroud, daughter of Charles Warren and E. Anne (Sales) Murphy, was born on February 19, 1920 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Alma grew up and attended school in Council Bluffs, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in the class of 1938. On February 23, 1941 Alma and Robert Leland Stroud were married in Maryville, Missouri. Anne (Sales) Murphy, was born on February 19, 1920 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Alma grew up and attended school in Council Bluffs, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in the class of 1938. On February 23, 1941 Alma and Robert Leland Stroud were married in Maryville, Missouri. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Charles Robert, Roger Leon, Barbara Gail, Katherine Eileen, Philip Leland, and Steven Michael. Alma and her family moved to a farm in Glenwood in 1949. While living on the farm, she greatly enjoyed raising chickens and a large vegetable garden. She was always pleased when reached her "1000" quart jar in the canning cellar each year. The couple later divorced in 1976. Some of her happiest times were raising her kids and having a house full of teenagers as the kids would all have friends over to the house. Alma was a long time member of the neighborhood social club called AWOL. She loved to sew and embroider, doing hand crafts, decorating cakes, tending to her garden and loved to play BINGO whenever she could. Alma is preceded in death by both her parents and her three sisters, Dorothy, Helen and Patricia. She is survived by her children, Charles (Amanda) Stroud of Jetmore, KS, Roger (Carol) Stroud and Barbara (Harold) Kaiman both of Glenwood, IA, Katherine Cooper of Springfield, NE, Philip ( Maureen) Stroud of Omaha, NE, and Steven (Jackie) Stroud of Thurman, IA; 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; other relatives and many special friends.
