Read More	FORMER VILLISCA RESIDENT DIES AT HER HOME IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA LAST FRIDAY Mrs. David Stipe, for many years a resident of this vicinity, died at her home in San Diego,California, Friday of last week. The cause of her death was asthma and other lung troubles, from which she had been a sufferer for some time. Amy Overman, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Overman, was born September 18, 1845 in Highland County, Ohio and died October 29, being at the time of her death 70 years, 1 month, and 14 days old. When eighteen years of age she came to Villisca with her parents, who settled just at the outskirts of Villisca near the present Oyster farm in 1861. The deceased was married to David Stipe, May 25, 1869 in Villisca. For eight years after they were married they made their home in Grant. In 1877, they moved back to this vicinity and for twenty years lived at various places near Villisca. In 1897, they moved from Villisca to California, and for a number of years the decease had been a resident of the city of San Diego in that state. Six children were born to them, five of that number are living. They are William F. Stipe of Clarinda, Elijah O. Stipe, Missoula, Montana, Mrs. Jennie Horton of Villisca; Guy H.Stipe of San Diego, California, and Mrs. Blanche Prathero, of El Toro, California. Two brothers of this city also survived the deceased. They are Thos. Overman and Aaron Overman. B. W. Overman of Delaware, Oklahoma is also a brother of the deceased. The husband preceded the wife in death on December 13, 1912. The remains will be brought to Villisca Thursday and the funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday at the Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. E. S. Menoher.
