Overman, 80, a resident of this vicinity nearly three quarters of a century, died at 6:40 p.m. Monday at his home at the southwest edger of Villisca. The body remained at his home where funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. W. F. P. Moore, and Ed Selley. Mr. Overman was born March 13, 1955 in Highland County, Ohio and six years later he came with his parents and family to Villisca. He lived in this vicinity most of the rest of his life. He was formerly for many years bridge foreman for Montgomery County. He was united in marriage to Anna Marie Larson on September 13, 1881; and to them were born five children. They are Carrie, who preceded her father in death; Mrs. Jessie Brown, Snyder, Colorado; Chas. E. Overman, Modesto, California; Leonard J. Overman, Green River, Wyoming, and Manford L. Overman, Villisca. Beside his wife and children, Mr. Overman leaves seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
