Description	:	Former Atchison Woman Passes Away in Topeka Mrs. Anna E. Bontrager, 96, formerly of Atchison, died at 3 o'clock yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roland Pease, in Topeka. Mrs. Bontrager had been comparatively well until New Year's eve when she suffered a heart attach. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sawin & Douglass chapel by the Rev. Read More	Former Atchison Woman Passes Away in Topeka Mrs. Anna E. Bontrager, 96, formerly of Atchison, died at 3 o'clock yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roland Pease, in Topeka. Mrs. Bontrager had been comparatively well until New Year's eve when she suffered a heart attach. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sawin & Douglass chapel by the Rev. Claude DeWitt of Topeka, Internment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Bontrager left here six years ago, to live with her daughter, Mrs. Pease. A daughter of Mr and Mrs. James May, Anna E. May was born in Quincy Ill, October 1846. When she was 15 her parents moved to Iowa. July 16, 1867, she was married to Hezekiah Bontrager, a veteran of the Civil war, near Clinton, Iowa. Mr. Bontrager was a farmer until retiring and coming here to live 30 years ago. He and his wife made their home with their daughter, Mrs. F. L. Faulkener, and her family. Mr. Bontrager died in 1915. Mrs. Bontrager was a life-long member of the Methodist church and when younger was a very active worker in the Church. She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, an auxiliary of the G. A. R. She leaves four sons, Frank Bontrager, Helena, Mont., Clarence Bontrager, Villisa, Iowa, Grant Bontrager, Spokane, Wash., and Charles Bontrager, San Leandro, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. . L. Faulkener, Toledo, Ohio and Mrs. R. E. Pease, Topeka, eleven grand children and nine great-grand-children. Two children preceded her in death.
