Read More	Glasco Sun, Aug. 2, 1928, page 1: ANNA JORDAN Miss Anna Jordan, daughter of Wm. and Elizabeth Jordan was born Sept. 24, 1848 at Kentville, King's county, Nova Scotia, Canada. Here she spent her girlhood days until 1871. At the age of 23 years she moved with her parents and other members of her family to the United States. They came by railroad to Solomon, Kansas. From there they drove to Glasco with team and wagon. Glasco at that time was a very small village consisting of a stor and post office and a blacksmith shop. In the fall of 1871 they moved to the Wm. Jordan homestead three miles northeast of Glasco. Here Miss Anna resided until 1906. After the death of her father she moved to Glasco, that she might be better able to care for her aged mother. Miss Anna was a true pioneer, a good friend and neighbor, always lending a helping hand wherever she was needed. In 1883 she made a visit to the land of her birth, Nova Scotia and after a few months' visit she returned declaring "That they had outgrown the old country" and there was no place like Kansas. In 1890 under the preaching of J.W. Garner she was converted to the Christian church at this place and has lived a faithful Christian life. On June 1st, she suffered a stroke of paralysis which made it impossible for her to live in her own house. Since then she has made her home with her sister, Mrs. Alph Adkinson and Mr. Adkinson, where everything was done that loving hands could do, to make her frial body comfortable, and bring cheer and happiness to her. Miss Jordan passed from this life July 31st, 1928, aged 79 years, 10 months and 7 days. She leaves to mourn three brothers and three sisters, Mr. Edmund Jordan, now in San Diego, California; Mr. N. H. Jordan and Mr. E. W. Jordan of Glasco, Kansas; Mrs. C. E. Martin of Abilene, Kansas, Mrs. Judith Wagner of Concordia, Kans., now in North Dakota; Mrs. Alph Adkinson of Glasco, Kansas, and many other relatives and friends. Her friends were numbered by those who knew her.
