Read More	Delphos Republican, July 24, 1958, page 1: Eunice Adkinson Eunice Jordan Adkinson, daughter of William and Elizabeth Ward Jordan, was born near Kentville, Kings County, Nova Scotia on August 24, 1862. In the year 1871 she came with her parents, three brothers and four sisters to Kansas, arriving in Solomon by train, then coming to Cloud county by team and wagon. Her father took a homestead four miles northeast of Glasco, where Mrs. Adkinson grew to womanhood. On the 24th day of January, 1884, she was united in marriage to Alpheus D. Adkinson. They established their home in the Bethel community, and to this union one daughter, Cleo (Mrs. Lester Colton) was born. Theirs was the hospitable home of geed neighbors, and wherever there was illness, trouble or joy, Aunt Eunice was there. She was a member of the Glasco Methodist church, always active in community affairs as long as her health permitted and was always the cheerful, never-complaining pioneer wife and mother. Her husband passed away in July, 1934, after which she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Colton, Mr. Colton and Myrtle, her much-loved and only grandchild. Here she enjoyed every kindness and comfort. After a short illness she passed away on July 13, 1958 at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 19 days. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Davenport, who were killed in an automobile accident in July, 1949. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters. Left to mourn her passing are her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Colton; her great-grandson, Leigh Davenport, all of the home; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Dean Funeral Home in Glasco, Tuesday morning, July 15, 1958, at 10 o'clock, with the Rev. John Baker officiating. Music was by Mr. Ronald King, soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Nadine Teasley at the piano. Pallbearers were Loren Wisbey, Bruce McClellan, Clive Cramer, Dea Gates, Herman Bates, and Wilfred Hare.
