Funeral will be held in the M.E. church Friday at 1 p.m. Stratford Courier October 23, 1902 Anna Olson was born at Envik Socken, Dalarne, Sweden, September 4, 1859, and emigrated to America with her parents in 1868. On the 26th day of March, 1878 she was married to J.H. Johnson. Their home was blessed with six children, two of whom preceded their mother to the better land. Four children, three girls - Nettie, Mabel and Anna - and one son - Clement - are left motherless. These together with her husband, father and mother and two brothers remain to mourn her departure. Mrs. Johnson was a good woman, a faithful wife, a loving mother. She was a christian, not only in her profession, but in her every day life. She was an invalid for many years, but was patient in suffering. She died October 15, 1902, aged 43 years, 1 month, 10 days. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Friday, at 1 o'clock p.m. conducted by Rev. Hoelscher. Interment took place at the Olson Cemetery. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their great bereavement. 'Tis hard to break the tender cord, When love has bound the heart, 'Tis hard, so hard to speak the word; Must we forever part? Dearest loved one we have laid thee, In the peaceful grave's embrace, But they memory will be cherished 'Til we see thy heavenly face. We miss thee from our home, dear, We miss thee from thy place; A show o'er our life is cast, We miss the sunshine of thy face, We miss thy kind and willing hand, Thy fond and earnest care; Our home is dark without thee, We miss thee everywhere. Call not back the dear departed, Anchored safe where storms are o'er, On the border-land we left them Soon to meet and part no more. Far beyond this world of changes, Far beyond this world of care, We shall find our missing loved one, In our Father's mansion fair. One by one Earth's ties are broken, As we see our love decay; And the hopes so fondly cherished, Brighten but to pass away, One by one hour hopes grow brighter, As we near the shining shore, For we know across the river Wait the loved ones gone before. Jesus, while our hearts our bleeding, O'er the spoils that Death has won, We would, at this solemn meeting Calmly say, "Thy will be done." Though cast down, we're not forsaken, Though afflicted not alone, Thou didst give and thou has taken Blessed Lord "Thy will be done."
