Olson was born in Enviken Svärsjö Socken, Sweden, November 17, 1830, and died April 7, 1925, at the home of his son, John Olson at Blue Earth, Minn., at the ripe old age of 94 years, 5 months, 20 days. He was married in Sweden to Anna Andrews in 1851 and to this union was born four children, three sons and one daughter. Olson was born in Enviken Svärsjö Socken, Sweden, November 17, 1830, and died April 7, 1925, at the home of his son, John Olson at Blue Earth, Minn., at the ripe old age of 94 years, 5 months, 20 days. He was married in Sweden to Anna Andrews in 1851 and to this union was born four children, three sons and one daughter. His wife and all of the children with the exception of one son, John, have preceded him in death. He came to America on June 24, 1868, locating at Boone. From there he moved to Mineral Ridge and on Jan. 1, 1904, the family moved to Stratford. Here he lived until April, 1917, when he went to make his home with his granddaughter, Mrs. J.E. Johnson, while the family lived in Perry and also in Des Moines. In June, 1924, he moved to Blue Earth, Minn. He leaves to mourn his passing, one son, nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends. During the years that he lived in this community he tilled the soil of a farm and prospered by dint of hard work and frugal living. He was a fine man and highly respected by a large number of friends. He was a man who was always cheerful even in the face of sorrow and he enjoyed nothing better than a hearty good laugh with his friends. He was a devoted member of the Swedish Mission Church and lived faithfully to the end. The remains were shipped to this place and funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the F.W. Holt home and from the Swedish Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Gordon Hasselblad. Interment was made in the Hardin Township Cemetery.
