COLEMAN Annie Alice Wells, daughter of Freeman Wells and Polly Hutsell Wells, was born August 24, 1861, in Howard County, Missouri, and died at her home in Glasco, Kansas, December 23, 1943, at the age of 82 years and four months. On October 14, 1880, she was married to James A. Coleman. In the second year of their married life they joined the Methodist Church in Dalton, Missouri, and lived consistent Christian lives. To this union were born five children. In 1886, the family moved from Missouri to Kansas, and lived on their farm in the Fisher Creek neighborhood, where they reared their children, raised stock and wheat. in 1925 they retired and moved to Glasco, where they lived at the time of their death, Mr. Coleman passing on in September, 1941, after a married life of 62 years less one month. Mrs. Coleman dearly loved her family and nothing was too hard for her to do for her husband and children. Her daughter-in-law, and sons-in-law all had their share of her affection, for she loved them all. Three of her children preceded her in death. They are William Edward Coleman, Lessie Olivia Louthan, and James Hurley Coleman. The surviving children are Mrs. Luella Beardmore of Beloit, Kansas; and Mrs. Sena E. Beardmore of the home. Besides these two daughters, she leaves two grandsons, who have recently visited her, James Wilfred Beardmore of Wichita, and Lt. William Earl Beardmore, of Tallahassee, Florida, to mourn her loss; also two great grandchildren, James William and Jo Ann Beardmore of Wichita. Mrs. Coleman leaves three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Hulse of Simpson, Mrs. Sena Cline of Concordia, Mrs. Susie Crook of Concordia, and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 26, at 2:30 p.m. in the Stine Funeral Parlors, Rev. R.R. Braddick of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment was made in the Glasco cemetery.
