Graham ================================================ The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Feb 13, 1942 - pg. 1 Mrs. Anna Graham Mrs. Anna Graham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Wheeland, was born at Chillicothe, Ohio, on March 8, 1873. She passed away at her home in Edgar, Nebraska at 8:30 Sunday morning, February 8, 1942, at the age of 68 years, 11 months. Mrs. Graham came to Nebraska with her parents in 1882 and spent most of her lifetime in or near Edgar. Anna Wheeland Surber was united in marriage to Henry T. Graham on March 7, 1906. Mrs. Graham united with the Church of Christ at Davenport, Nebraska, but due to ill health over a period of many years, she was unable to attend or take an active part in church work. She was, however, a devoted reader of her Bible and lived each day according to her conception of "The Golden Rule." She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, four children, Mrs. Ferne Byrkit, Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Velma Brumbaugh, Poughkeepsie, N. Y.; Ray Surber, Wayne, Neb., and John Surber, Colorado Springs, Colorado; three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Elgin, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Effie Kennedy and Mrs. Della Porter of Edgar; two brothers, Luther Wheeland of Edgar, and Fred Wheeland of Cheyenne, Wyoming; five grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Edgar Christian Church Wednesday, February 11, 1942, at 2:30 p.m., with Roy A. Coop in charge. Mrs. Coop sang, "Jesus Saviour," "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "I'm Going Home." Mrs. Roy Cline was at the piano. Pallbearers were Wesley Bregert (sic), Harvey Wicker, Fred Gass, Rancie Strawser, Roy Wheeland and Cecil Strawser. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
