Description	:	Arad Robinson, the eldest son of Peter Robinson, 3rd and Abigail Palmer, was born at Windham, Conn. on 23 December 1762. According to Barbour, his birth is recorded in the Windham town records but without a name. Although Barbour does not include his death in the printed town record, according to the 1925 Robinson Genealogy Arad died of smallpox on 17 July 1778 with the following notation: "From a memo of the gravestone in the Palmerstown Cemetery in Scotland, CT --'In memory of Rhoda, daughter of Mr. Peter & Mrs. Abigail Robinson, who died November 19, 1764, aged three years... Arad was Rhoda's 'little brother'..." The Hale Cemetery Collection database includes Arad's sister at Palmertown, but the abstract of her gravestone does not include the detail regarding Arad. Fortunately, on the portion of sister Rhoda's extant gravestone partially obscured by moss is the discernable phrase "& her Little Brother is buried..." Sister Rhoda's gravestone raises an interesting quandry. Rhoda and Arad's mother is interred with a gravestone at the old Scotland Village cemetery to the immediate right of her father-in-law, Peter Robinson, Jr., while Abigail's husband, Peter Robionson, 3rd and his second wife Sarah West, are not to be found at that cemetery.
