Drake, pioneer resident of this county, died this morning at 9 o'clock at the home in Uniontown following a lingering illness. Artie May Ralston was born March 31, 1873 on the Ralston homestead. Drake, pioneer resident of this county, died this morning at 9 o'clock at the home in Uniontown following a lingering illness. Artie May Ralston was born March 31, 1873 on the Ralston homestead. This track of land was homesteaded by her father in 1854, where she lived and grew to womanhood. She was married on Oct. 7, 1891 to D. A. Drake in Fort Scott. Her husband and three children survive. Two children are deceased. The funeral will be held at the Baptist church in Uniontown Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The body is at the Ralston funeral home at Moran. *********************** ARTIE MAY DRAKE Uniontown--Funeral services for Mrs. Artie May Drake, pioneer resident of Bourbon County who died Jan. 7, were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Uniontown Baptist Church. Artie May Ralston was born March 31, 1873 to David T. and Malinda Ralston, pioneer settlers of the community five and a half miles southwest of Uniontown, where she attended the local school and grew to womanhood. She was married Oct. 7, 1891, to David A. Drake of the same vicinity. They both joined the Bethel Baptist church. Surviving are two daughters, Elsie Mason of Kansas City and Vernie Cameron of Humansville, Mo; a son, Albert of Uniontown; a foster son, Orville Drake of Denver, Colo., and a brother Elmer Ralston. One daughter, Viola Ethel, died in infancy and one son, Arlie, died at the age of 20. Seven grandchildren also survive as do two great granddaughters. The Rev. Ray Nitcher conducted, assisted by the Rev. Herbert Nitcher of Uniontown. Mrs. Cartie Clark of Walnut accompanied Mrs. Ola Holt and Mrs. Mable Turner, who sang some duets. Pallbearers were Walter Baptist, Arthur Chandler, Roy Keggereis, Otis Bruner, Fletcher Kissler and Lawrence Johnson, all of Uniontown. ***********************
