They had one daughter, Effie Ann, before George died in May 1871. Maggie then married James M. Nichols in October 1872. She came to this county... Read More	Margaret Melvina was the daughter of David Thompson and Mary Ann "Polly" Guttry Ralston. Maggie was married on December 27, 1868 to George Henton. They had one daughter, Effie Ann, before George died in May 1871. Maggie then married James M. Nichols in October 1872. When James died in 1902 Maggie moved to Uniontown. *********************** The death of Margaret M. Nichols in her 94th. year at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Effie Beaman, Sat. afternoon, Feb. 24th., 1945, took one of the oldest and most beloved residents from Uniontown. She came to this county when four years of age and lived in this vicinity continuously with the exception of 3 years spent on the Pacific coast. Margaret Ralston was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Ralston, a prominent pioneer family of this county. She was born near Greenfield, Mo., July 26th., 1831. (1851) She was converted in early girlhood and united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church. After moving to Uniontown over forty years ago, she joined the Methodist Church of that place and was a faithful member at the time of her passing. She latter married James B. (M) Nichols who died many years ago. To this union was born two daughters and two sons. Both daughters are deceased. Orra passed away in 1888, and Mrs. Elzora LaRue in 1924. (1925) The two sons, J. E. Nichols of Bronson, and S. H. Nichols of McCloud, Calif., survive her, as also do 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; an aged sister, Mrs. Mary Mason of Uniontown; and a half brother and sister, Elmer Ralston of Olympia, Wash., and Mrs. May Drake of Uniontown. This is a brief outline of the work in a long, useful, well spent life. Her unfalterly faith in the goodness and protective care of her Heavenly Father has been an inspiration to those who know her best. Due to failing health and her advance age she gave up her own home and spent her last years with her daughter, Mrs. Beaman, who was assisted by the untiring care of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Beaman, in the care of the mother. She sat waiting and praying for her Lord to take her to her Heavenly Home that house not made with hands eternal in the Heavens. ----------------------------------- MRS. MARGARET NICHOLS Uniontown -- Mrs. Margaret M. Nichols, 93 years old, died Saturday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Effie Beaman at Uniontown. She was one of the oldest and most beloved residents of Uniontown, and had lived hr entire life since the age of three in Uniontown, with the exception of three years spent on the Pacific coast. The body is at the Ralston chapel in Moran, but will be at the home of Mrs. Beaman from 1 o'clock Tuesday until the funeral to be held at the Uniontown Methodist church at 2:30. The Rev. Charles Wogan will officiate and burial will be made in the Hatch cemetery. ----------------------------------- Nichols Death Mrs. Margaret M. Nichols died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Effie Beaman in Uniontown. Margaret M. Ralston was born hear Greenfield (Greene County), Mo. on July 26, 1851. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Ralston. At an early age Margaret joined the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. After moving to Uniontown more than 40 years ago she joined the Methodist Church of Uniontown, of which she was a member at the time of hr death. She was married to George B. Henton on December 27, 1868. He died in May, 1872. (1871) They had one daughter, Mrs. Effie Beaman of Uniontown. Mrs. Henton later was married to James M. Nichols, who is also deceased. To this union were born two daughters and two sons. One daughter died in childhood. The other daughter is Mrs. Zora LaRue. The two sons are J.E. Nichols of Bronson and S.H. Nichols of McCloud, Cal. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. A sister, Mrs. Mary Mason of Uniontown, also survives as does a half-brother, Elmer Ralston of Olympia, Wash. and a half-sister, Mr. May Drake of Uniontown. Funeral services were held this afternoon. ***********************
