A widely-known farmer of the Millwood neighborhood, Mr. Nieman was born October 17, 1875, on the same farm on which he died. A widely-known farmer of the Millwood neighborhood, Mr. Nieman was born October 17, 1875, on the same farm on which he died. He was a son of Martin and Elizabeth Nieman, early settlers of Easton township. Mr. Nieman was married February 7, 1901, to Miss Catherine Oberdick at Farley, Mo., who survives him. He also leaves two daughters, Miss Helen Nieman of the home; Mrs. Alma Platt, Carroll, Ia.; two sons, Martin Nieman, Easton rural route two; Walter Nieman of the home; two brothers, John Nieman of Easton; Henry Nieman of Potter; a sister, Mrs. Henry Bente, 915 Spruce street, Leavenworth; and four grandchildren. The body was removed late Monday afternoon from the Davis funeral church to the home where it remained until 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon when it was taken to St. John's Lutheran church, south of Potter, where services were held at 2:30 o'clock. Burial was in St. John's cemetery. Rev. Melvin H. Meyer, pastor of the church, officiated. Mr. Nieman had been a leading member of the church for many years. Pallbearers were Fred Nieman, Elmer Nieman, Ernest Angelback, Edward Nieman, John Nieman, Jr., Ernest Nieman, William Angelback and John Oberdick.--Leavenworth Times.
