Description	:	Benjamin Walter died at his home near Brooks, Iowa, Thursday, December 30, 1915, aged 82 years, 3 months and 9 days. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, at Mt. Zion Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. R. J. Rutt, pastor of the Corning Presbyterian church, and interment was made in Methodist Grove cemetery. Benjamin Walter was born in Canton Bern, Switzerland, September 21, 1833. He came to America with his parents in the year 1854, and settled in Monroe county, Ohio, where he was married February 13, 1864, to Miss Mary Hedinger. To Mr. and Mrs. Walter ten children were born, six sons and four daughters. One son and two daughters preceded their father in death. In the year 1884 Mr. Walter with his family moved to Adams county, which has since been the family home. As a child Mr. Walter was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran church, of which he was a member when he died. Beside his wife, he is survived by the following children, Fred Walter, Clarinda, Ed Walter, near brooks, Mrs. Hossman, in Brooks, Mrs. Stillinger, near Brooks, and Henry, Frank, and Will Walter at home.
