Moore, born at Wabash, Indiana, May 6, 1866 and died in a sanitarium at Lafayette, Indiana, June 16, 1927 of encephylitus. Buried in Falls Cemetery at Wabash, Indiana. He married Mary Elizabeth Hipskind in 1891. She was the daughter of Philip and Anna M.(Fleck) Hipskind. He was the father of four sons and six daughters. When a young boy he and his brother Andrew "Kit" worked for Arch Stitt who ran a restaurant and bakery; he learned the bakers trade during this time. When he was seventeen years old he went with his brother "Kit" to Kansas where worked for five or six years. They returned Wabash in 1889 and built a bakery on their father's property and operated it until it burned down in 1897. They never kept books on their business except for the year 1892; they had a profit of $20,000 that year. Frank handled the baking, and Kit handled the selling. After the bakery burned down he moved to a farm owned by his father-in-law and worked it for a season when the farm was sold. A Mr. Baer, who was in the wholesale lumber business and who had three thousand acres of timber in Breathett County, Kentucky, induced him to go to Kentucky to cut this timber for him. He moved his family there taking five or six other families with him, returning to Wabash when the job was finished. Prior to this and while he was in the bakery business he served as Chief of Police for one term. After he returned to Wabash from Kentucky he and his brothers opened another bakery uptown. Due to his brother who had charge of the selling, allowing customers to run up large accounts, some for five and six humdred dollars and not ever making any serious effort to collect them he left the business to his brothers who promised to pay him for his interest but never did. The business being discontinued shortly thereafter. Not long afterwards another friend started a paper mill in Kalamazoo, Michigan and induced him to move to Kalamazoo and take over the supervision of the shipping department. He went to Kalamazoo in February 1901 and stayed there until February 1907 when his father-in-law came to Kalamazoo and wanted him to go to Marysville, Ohio to take charge of a 407-acre farm which he just purchased. After operating the farm for one season his father-in-law sold it and in February of 1908 took his family back to Wabash. He then worked as a foreman for couple of years for his brother-in-law who was in the contracting business. While constructing a sewer in Richmond, Indiana he was injured and was unable to work for a year. He did not return to the contracting business but went to work as a baker and later became a constable doing this until he died. He was avid boxer and was sparring parnter of Bob Fitzsimmons when Fitzsimmons was heavyweight champion. Fitzsimmopns tried to talk him into going into prize fighting, telling him "you can take the title away from me". He seriously considered doing it but his wife would not allow him to do so. He did fight some locally and held the title for Wabash county. He was interested in racing and owned at different times several race horses. He liked to fish and was personal friend of Charles Vauter who owned Vauters Park at Lake Wawasee. On occasion he was a guest, with his family, of Mr. Vauter at his hotel. In October 1897 he caught dozens of bass, supplied the hotel with fish and took about twenty of them home where he had a picture taken in front of home with his family and two large strings of fish.
