Read More	Glasco Sun, Oct. 14, 1926, page 1: FRANK WILSON PIONEER STOCKMAN CALLED TO REST In the passing of Frank Wilson, who died at his home on Church Street last Friday, the community loses one of its few remaining pioneer settlers, a sturdy cattleman of the old school, who thought little of living in the saddle for days at a time in buying cattle and driving them to his pastures or shipping points. He was a dominant character, energetic and persevering in the accomplishment of that which he undertook. His was the spirit with which most of our pioneers have been imbued, the spirit that enabled them to accomplish much with little else but brain and brown and pave the way for future generations to carry on and develop that which they fought so hard to attain. Benjamin Franklin Wilson was born at Edenton, North Carolina May 14th, 1840. In early life he moved to Dublin, Indiana, where he was married to Miss Lucy Terrill. Two children blessed this union, Mrs. Hester Colwell (now deceased) and Mrs. Ella Young of Clyde, Kansas. While living there the wife and mother passed to the great beyond. In 1868 he moved to Kansas and resided near Leavenworth for a time. While there he was married to Miss Mahala Wallace and three children came to gladden their home. In 1871 the family moved to Cloud County, taking a homestead about six miles northeast of Glasco, where they lived for over a quarter of a century. Then they decided to move to their farm on Chris Creek, remaining there about 27 years. Then they moved to their home in Glasco, where Mr. Wilson passed away Friday October 8th after many months of sickness, his wife preceding him about five months. Mr. Wilson chose farming and stock raising as his business, and through his feeding large numbers of stock made a market for the feed and stock of the community thereby helping his neighbors to a great extent. Mr. Wilson was an upright and honorable citizen in his dealings with his fellow men. He shared with them the pleasures and privations incident to frontier life. He leaves to mourn their loss, three children, Mrs. Ella Young of Clyde; Mr. Chris Wilson of Glasco and Mrs. May Lang of Ames also 21 grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Thus passes another Kansas pioneer. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian Church conducted by Rev. Elmer L. Brooks. Interment was in Glasco Cemetery.
