Hiller, 85, retired Hardin township farmer and resident of this county for sixty-three years, died Saturday morning at his residence in McClelland after an extended period of i1lness health. Mr. Hiller was born in Rothenburg, Bavaria, Germany, in 1830 and came to the United States in 1877, settling at once in Hardin township. Hiller, 85, retired Hardin township farmer and resident of this county for sixty-three years, died Saturday morning at his residence in McClelland after an extended period of i1lness health. Mr. Hiller was born in Rothenburg, Bavaria, Germany, in 1830 and came to the United States in 1877, settling at once in Hardin township. He farmed until 1915 when he moved into McClelland, and a son, William Hiller, now occupies the same farm. He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical church in Council Bluffs. Surviving are his widow, Meta; three sons, William Hiller, John Hiller and Henry Hiller, all farming in Hardin township, and two daughters, Mrs. Clara Horstmeyer of Hardin township and Mrs. Amanda Hellwinckel of Pipestone, Minn., in addition to other relatives in Germany. The body is at Woodring’s funeral home. Hiller, 85, Hardin township farmer and resident here for sixty three years, Monday at 2 p. m. at Woodring's chapel, with Rev. T. L. Boesch of St. John’s Evangelical church officiating. Eight flower girls were necessary to carry the extensive floral offerings. Pallbearers were Bernard Hiller, Bernard Horstmeyer, Otto, Roy, John and Henry Hiller, jr.
