She had entered the hospital four days before for emergency treatment. Mrs. Fawcett was born in Marion in 1881, the daughter of the late Sidney and Susan Powell Peyton. The family moved to Crisfield when she was very young, and she had lived here for a great many years. In the early 1900's the family moved to Baltimore where in 1904 she married William A. Fawcett and they resided in Towson and Baltimore for a number of years before returning to Crisfield. Mrs. Fawcett was a woman of fine intellect, a companionable, interesting conversationalist, friendly and helpful, and in her younger days was active in affairs at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, of which she was a member, and sang in the choir there. She also was a member in late years of the W.S.C.S. of Immanuel Methodist Church. Held in real regard and affection by everyone who knew her, Mrs. Fawcett had had a full life, enjoying the friendship extended to her and giving hers in return. News of her death was received with sorrow by her friends and acquaintances. Funeral services were held in the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon, with the Rev. A. T. McFarland, pastor of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in the family plot in the Crisfield cemetery. Surviving her are her husband, William A. Fawcett, a son, Charles Peyton Fawcett of Baltimore, a brother, Albert Peyton of Adams, N.Y., a sister, Mrs. Bessie MacLeod of Chappua, N.Y., and nine grandchildren.
