SUSAN PEYTON BURIED ON SATURDAY Died At Her Home On Cove St. Thursday Of Last Week WAS 92 YEARS OLD THE 29TH OF LAST JANUARY Mrs. Susan A. Peyton, one of the community's oldest and beloved residents, died at her home on Cove street, where she had been living for the past year with her daughter, Mrs. William Fawcett, Thursday of last week, from the infirmlies of age. Born at Bridgeville, Del., Jan. 29th, 1850, she was 92 years, seven months and 19 days old. Years ago Mrs. Peyton and her husband, the late Sidney Peyton, and their family, were familiar figures in Crisfield. Mrs. Peyton was one of those motherly women who devoted her time and her talents to rearing her family and maintaining a comfortable and delightful home for her husband and children, and the Peyton home was a favorite spot for the younger generation because of the lovely and accomplished girls and the fine boys the parents had reared. As was frequently the case with small women Mrs Peyton was usually energetic, cheerful and lovable. She was a member of the Methodist faith, and by precept and example showed in her daily life that to her Christianity was substantial, inspiring and great enough to encompass all people. Her husband, was a shipwright by profession, and was employed for years at the McCready Railways here. Quite a number of years ago they moved to Baltimore, where they resided until the death of Mr. Peyton, and later, Mrs. Peyton came to Crisfield and made her home with her children here. Very nearly everyone in the community was acquainted in some degree with "Grandma" Peyton, and while they knew she was in declining health because of her advanced age, the news of her death was received with sincere sorrow. Her life, over her many years, was a fine example of motherhood, of neighborliness, of practical Christianity, and her sons and daughters not only have reason to be proud of the mother they had but their grief at her passing should be tempered by the knowledge that she is now enjoying a well-earned rest from her earthly labors. Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter-in-law and grand daughter. Mrs. Bertie Peyton and Dr. Sarah M. Peyton, on Main street, Saturday afternoon 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. Charles M. Elderdice, pastor of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the family plot in the Crisfield cemetery. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Bessie McLeod, of Baltimore, Mrs. William Fawcett, of Crisfield, and Mrs. Holmes LaMar, of Jacksonville, Florida, and three sons, Orrie F. Peyton, of Crisfield, Louis Peyton, of Pykesville, Md. and Albert Peyton, of Adams, N. Y. Another son, Wiliam J. Peyton, founder of the drug firm of William J.
