Description	:	Blanche Esther Barr Blanche Ester Barr, 84, of Mount Pleasant died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant. born May 12, 1920, in Henry County, she was the daughter of JoSephus and Alma Sammons Messer. she married Clifford "Bill" Barr. He died in October 1979. Mrs. Barr worked in the restaurant business for several years. She owned and operated various establishments, including the 34 Grill, the Hi Hat and the North Star restaurants. she attended White Oak School and was a member of the White Oak rural community. she was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal... He died in October 1979. Mrs. Barr worked in the restaurant business for several years. She owned and operated various establishments, including the 34 Grill, the Hi Hat and the North Star restaurants. she attended White Oak School and was a member of the White Oak rural community. she was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She enjoyed embroidering and reading. Survivors include two daughter, Madeline Swailes and Alma Bennett, both of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Bouge of Yuma, Ariz. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m Thursday at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Barr will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, with Abbott Michael-John and the Rev. Gary Caldwell officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery.
