Description	:	Stratford Courier December 22, 1927 Carl Waller was stricken Thursday at about noon with paralysis and that night he passed away. He had been in usual health and was at work about his farm home southwest of Stratford when he was stricken. Carl Waller was born at Åmots Bruk, Gävleborgs Län, Sweden, April 21, 1851 and passed away December 15, 1927 at the age of 76 years, 7 months, 24 days. Carl Waller was born at Åmots Bruk, Gävleborgs Län, Sweden, April 21, 1851 and passed away December 15, 1927 at the age of 76 years, 7 months, 24 days. He was united in marriage to Anna Anderson in Sweden on August 30, 1872. Six children were born to them. He is survived by his aged wife, one daughter and four sons. They are, Mrs. Alfred Erickson, of Stanhope, Edward, Carl and Ernest of Stratford and Herbert of Fort Dodge. One son died in infancy. He came to America with his family in August 1887 and located near this place, where he has since resided. He united with the Swedish Mission church in the Swede Bend community in 1889 and was a true believer in the Christian faith. While not an early pioneer settler of Iowa, deceased came to this section when this country was still new and largely unsettled. With the others of that day, he erected a home here and by honest toil and frugal living carved out of the then wilderness a home for himself and his loved ones. Always quiet and home loving man, he had of the latter years remained very much at his pretty little home southwest of Stratford, putting in his time in his advanced years in making the home place the beauty spot of that section. As a neighbor he was highly respected by everyone for he was kind and always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed assistance. Funeral services were held from the Swedish Mission church Sunday after-Abraham. A large number of friends came to pay their last respects to their departed friend. He was united in marriage to Anna Anderson, Aug. 30, 1872. Six children were born to them, one daughter and four sons of whom survive: Mrs. Alfred Erickson, of Stanhope; Edward, Carl and Ernest, of Stratford, and Herbert, of Fort Dodge. He came to America with his family in August, 1887, and located near Stratford. He joined the Mission church in Swede Bend in 1889 and was a true believer in the Christian faith. He is deeply mourned by his bereaved wife, daughter and sons, as well as a large host of sorrowing friends. Funeral services were held from the Mission church last Sunday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. F. Abraham. A large number of friends came to pay their last respect to their departed friend. Interment was made in the Swede Bend cemetery.
