She was united in marriage to Carl Waller in Sweden on Aug. 30, 1872. Six children were born to them. She is survived by one daughter and four sons. She was united in marriage to Carl Waller in Sweden on Aug. 30, 1872. Six children were born to them. She is survived by one daughter and four sons. They are Mrs. Alf Erickson (Alvina) of Stanhope; Edward, Carl and Ernest of Stratford and Herbert of Fort Dodge. Her husband preceded her in death December 15, 1927. In August, 1887, the family came to America and located on a farm southwest of Stratford, where she has since resided. She united with the Swedish Mission Church in the Swede Bend community in 1889 and was a true and faithful believer in the Christian faith. Mrs. Waller’s death was not the culmination of an illness of any kind, for she had been in very good health for one of her years and on the day of her death had risen in the morning as usual when her daughter noted that she did not appear to be as well as she had been. She returned to her bed and died within a very short time, going into the last long sleep with the rest and peacefulness of one who had lived a good life and performed, as she had, the tasks that were given to her faithfully and well. The funeral service was held from the Mission church Tuesday of last week, conducted by Rev. F.O. Abraham, the pastor, of Pilot Mound. The remains were laid to rest in the Hardin township cemetery. Biography Anna (Andersdotter) Waller was born on June 14, 1852 in Åmots Bruk, Ockelbo, Gävleborg, Sweden to Anders Hansson and Karin Nilsdotter. Anna grew up in Åmots Bruk and was united in marriage to Carl Waller there on August 30, 1872. To this union, six children were born, all at Åmots Bruk. Anna and Carl's first son, Carl August Waller, was born November 14, 1872 and died at just seven days old on November 22, 1872. A year and a half later, they welcome their second son, Edward Andrew Waller on March 16, 1874. Next, their only daughter, Alvina Katrina Waller was born on August 31, 1878. The following year, Carl Walfred Waller joined the family on December 1, 1879. Then, six years and one day after Carl's birth, they welcomed twin boys, Herbert Henry Waller and Ernest Gust Waller on December 2, 1885. Almost two years after their family was complete, they left Sweden for North America to join Anna's mother in Iowa. Anna's mother and father emigrated in 1884 and her father, Andrew (Anders) Hanson passed away the following year in 1885. Carl and Anna and their family arrived aboard the Steamship Circassia at the Port of New York on August 8, 1887. From there, they traveled to Hardin Township, Webster County, Iowa. Over the next ten years, their children grew to adulthood and shortly thereafter, wedding bells began to ring for Carl and Anna. Alvina married Alfred Erickson on March 16, 1898. Carl W. Waller was married to Teckla Peterson on November 10, 1904 and later to Anna Lotberg on June 26, 1918. Edward married Mabel Lindberg on January 27, 1915. Ernest married Hannah Johnson on February 10, 1915, and Herbert married Della Smith on June 4, 1924. Carl and Anna celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1922 at their farm home, surrounded by family and friends. Carl passed away on December 15, 1927 and Anna the following year on December 8, 1928. They were both laid to rest in the Hardin Township Cemetery, less than one mile from their home.
