She was born November 20, 1923 at Hiawatha, the daughter of James and Eva Nigus Jones. She graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1941. Carol was a member of the First Christian Church in Holton. Read More	Carol Rosalie Robertson (November 20, 1923 - March 4, 2009) NETAWAKA – Carol Rosalie Robertson, 85, of Netawaka, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the Holton Community Hospital. She was born November 20, 1923 at Hiawatha, the daughter of James and Eva Nigus Jones. She graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1941. Carol was a member of the First Christian Church in Holton. She collected teapots and was an avid gardener and quilter. She was the postmaster in Netawaka until her retirement in 1990. Prior to that she had worked at the Slimaker Dress Factory in Horton. Carol married Howard Earl Robertson on June 9, 1940 at Troy. He died June 3, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Jones, and a sister, Darlene Head. Survivors include three sons, Donald E. Robertson, Lakin, Steven J. Robertson and wife Callie, Kingman, and Arnold A. Robertson and wife Marcia, Netawaka; one daughter, Nancy A. Billiter and husband Barry, Netawaka; one brother, Billy Jones and wife Phyllis, in Florida; one sister, Eloise McGenney and husband Bob, Lyndon; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Hiawatha. Carol will lie in state until service time at the funeral home where family and friends will meet from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 1034, Holton, 66436.
