Description	:	Stratford Courier March 5, 1903 Obituary Morris Mrs. Carrie Morris died at her home Sunday morning after an illness of many months. She had been steadily sinking and medical aid was of no avail. Deceased was born at Hook's Point, March 4, 1863, and died at Stratford, March 1, 1903, aged 40 years, lacking three days. She had been steadily sinking and medical aid was of no avail. Deceased was born at Hook's Point, March 4, 1863, and died at Stratford, March 1, 1903, aged 40 years, lacking three days. When 14 years of age she was converted, baptized and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. On September 17, 1890 at St. Francis, Kansas, she was married to Henry Morris. To them was born one child, Justin Ray. Her husband died a little over a year ago. Ray, their only child, is now left without father or mother. There remains also her mother, two brothers and one sister. After the death of her husband she removed from the farm home to Stratford. Her last illness was long, but she bore her suffering patiently. She was prepared for the inevitable, expressed her willingness to go, asked all her relatives and friends to meet her in heaven. Death which at one time separated husband and wife has now been the means of reuniting them. Our hearts go out in sympathy to the mourning relatives, especially the orphaned child. Yet we remember that God has promised to be a father to the fatherless and motherless and in this thought lies great consolation. The remains were interred in Oakwood Cemetery, the services being held in the M.E. church, Rev. Culver of Dayton officiating.
