Description	:	Catherine was a direct descendent of King Harold of Norway and of Captain John White who landed at the Roanoke Colony in Virginia. Catherine (Kay) E. Parnel was born the oldest child of August and Pearl's four children, in Onalaska Washington. The family moved to Centralia where Kay attended school. Parnel was born the oldest child of August and Pearl's four children, in Onalaska Washington. The family moved to Centralia where Kay attended school. While a teenager Kay worked at the Movie Theater and Cannery. After her graduation from Centralia High School, Kay married Eugene Schilt. Kay and Eugene purchased forty acres north of Centralia. Eugene and Kay were married for 25 years and had 9 children. Kay attended Capitol Business college, and upon her graduation, she gained employment and worked for 10 years for the Dept. of Licensing in Olympic before she retired. In 1974 Kay married Edward parnel. After her retirement, Kay and Ed moved to the Clearwater area where they worked security for local logging companies. Kay's last years were spent at home in Centralia with her husband Ed. Catherine enjoyed many outdoor activities including working in her flower beds, smelting, clam digging, mushroom hunting, hiking, and fishing. She also enjoyed painting, canning, and crossword puzzles. Kay was an avid reader. All her children fondly remember her. She instilled in them a strong work ethic, and the importance of love and kindness. Catherine had a personal relationship with each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as numerous as they are. Kay made each one feel special. Kay leaves a legacy of love and generosity to all who knew her. She filled our hearts with her warm smile and gentle laughter.
