Mr. Ridgley was a member of Main Avenue United Methodist Church in Byesville since 1920 where he was Sunday school superintendent and teacher. Ridgley, 84, of 10 South 27th St., Cambridge, prominent former Byesville resident, died at 11:30 am Wednesday [7 Dec 1977] in Guernsey Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ridgley was a member of Main Avenue United Methodist Church in Byesville since 1920 where he was Sunday school superintendent and teacher. He once was chairman of the administrative board and trustee and was current chairman of the pastoral relations committee. Mr. Ridgley was a charter member and president of the Byesville Board of Trade and charter member and former president of Byesville Exchange Club. He also served as trustee of Byesville Branch of the Salvation Army and was past master and chaplain of Byesville Masonic Lodge 654. A retired employee of the State Highway Department where he served for 50 years, Mr. Ridgley was former superintendent of the Guernsey County State Highway Department at Cambridge. Born Oct. 13, 1893, in Morgan County, he was a son of Carlos and Arminta Henry [sic] Ridgley. His first wife, the former Pearl Cater, died Aug. 9, 1972, and his second wife, the former Estella Moffett, died April 19, 1976. Surviving are two step-sons, William Moffett of Pleasant City and John Moffett of Savannah, Ga.; three step-daughters, Grace Anderson of Vacilla, Calif., Mrs. Jessie Powell and Mrs. Freda Williams, both of Massillon; two brothers Harold of Byesville and Herbert of New Castle, Pa., and one sister Mrs. Thelma Meighen of Cambridge. Friends may call 7 to 9 pm today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Friday in McGaughey Funeral Home at Byesville. Service will be held at 11 am Saturday in the funeral home with Rev.
