Rev. C. L. Guinn officiated and burial was in Akron cemetery. The Lewison funeral home had charge of arrangements. Mr. Jans was born February 13, 1868, in Tipton, Ia. He homesteaded in Dakota territory and during that time there were several uprising by Indians in the vicinity. He farmed for many years in the Akron community.
