Description	:	Charles J[effries] Buckingham, well known in Douglas county for many years, died Thursday at his home in Topeka, aged 84 years. Pneumonia was the cause of death. Funeral services will be held at Topeka and burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery Saturday afternoon. Mr. Buckingham was well known as a farmer and stockman. He lived in Lawrence for years and operated his farm near Six Corners. He came to Kansas in 1869 and served two terms as county treasurer of Leavenworth county. BUCKINGHAM DEAD He Had Been Kansas Resident More Than Sixty Years. C[harles] J[effries] Buckingham, 84, a resident of Kansas sixty years, died Thursday at his home, 1029 Lane street. His death occurred after a short illness from pneumonia. He was born near Cincinnati, and came to Kansas in the early sixties, settling near Leavenworth. He served as treasurer of Leavenworth county for two terms. He also was well known in Ford county as a ranchman. He is survived by his widow, one son, E[dwin] J. Buckingham, San Antonio, Tex.; and two daughters, Mrs. O[smon] G[rant] {Presocia} Markham, Baldwin; and Mrs. Lloyd B. {Sarah} Smith, Topeka.
